清水裕子は、日本のカリグラフィー界をリードする卓越した存在であり、その個性的な作品は日本のみならず世界にも影響を与え、高い評価を得ています。2021年8月から３ヶ月間、ベルギーのブルージュ、マンナ・アート・センターで清水裕子の個展が開催され、成功裏に幕を閉じました。これは彼女にとって初めての個展でした。このウェビナーでは、個展開催が決まるまでの経緯に始まり、展示作品の様子紹介から、いくつかの作品については制作過程も説明します。また、15年間にわたる作品を展示したことで新たに気付いたことや、印象に残った体験談などにも触れます。展示をご覧になれなかった方はもちろん、ご覧になった方にも興味深い内容のトークです。

＜講師プロフィール＞
清水裕子 Hiroko Shimizu
兵庫県在住カリグラファー、講師、レターカッター。1994年にボストンでカリグラフィーと出会い、帰国までの3年間、カリグラフィーに没頭する。その後、海外講師のワークショップやインターナショナルカンファレンス、シンポジウムに参加して研鑽を積む。1998年以降定期的に教えており、国内各所でワークショップを行っている。彼女の特徴である柔軟性は、作品だけでなく、指導方法にも反映されている。彼女の作品は、2002年以降Letter Arts Review年鑑に頻繁に選ばれ、国際的に展示されている。芦屋市でStudio Letter Artsを主宰し、NPO Japan Letter Arts Forum副代表理事を務めている。

■ Webinar Title: 'Looking Back on My Solo Exhibition in Bruges'
■ Outline
Hiroko Shimizu is an exceptional leader in the Western calligraphy world in Japan. Her unique works are highly acclaimed and influential not only in Japan but also worldwide. For three months from August 2021, Hiroko Shimizu's solo exhibition was successfully held at the Manna Art Center in Bruges, Belgium. This was her first solo exhibition. In this webinar, she will start with the background stories before the decision to hold the exhibition, then introduce the exhibited works, and explain the process of making some of them. She will also talk about what she has noticed after exhibiting the works she has created over the past 15 years and her impressive experiences. This talk will be of interest to those who were not able to see the exhibition as well as those who did.

＜Tutor’s Biography＞
Hiroko Shimizu is a calligrapher, teacher and letter cutter living in Hyogo, Japan. She started calligraphy in 1994 while living in Boston and enthusiastically learned it for 3 years until returning to Japan. She continued to actively study it afterward by participating in workshops, international conferences, and symposiums oversea. She has been teaching regularly since 1998 and doing workshops in major cities in Japan. Her characteristic flexibility is reflected not only in her work but also in her teaching style. Her work has been frequently selected for Letter Arts Review Annual since 2002 and exhibited internationally. She runs Studio Letter Arts in Ashiya, and is a deputy executive director of NPO Japan Letter Arts Forum. https://studio-letterarts.com/
